# Delete Your Account

> Understand what to review before closing your Agentsy account, how account deletion differs from subscription cancellation, and how to request assistance.

Deleting an account is an important decision. Before you proceed, review your AI Experiences, organization access, subscriptions, and any information you may need to retain.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Account deletion may affect access to your AI Experiences, conversations, knowledge files, and administrative settings. Do not assume that canceling a subscription automatically deletes your account or its data.

## Account deletion versus subscription cancellation

These actions serve different purposes:

| Action | What it means | When to choose it |
| - | - | - |
| **Cancel a subscription** | End or prevent renewal of a paid plan according to its billing terms. | You want to stop paying but may wish to keep your account. |
| **Delete an account** | Request removal or closure of your account and associated information, subject to applicable retention requirements. | You no longer want to maintain your account. |
| **Remove access for a team member** | Revoke an individual's administrative access without necessarily closing the organization. | A collaborator has left or no longer needs access. |

For billing-specific instructions, see [Cancel Your Subscription](/billing-and-plans/cancel-your-subscription). For team access, see [Members and Permissions](/account-and-organization/members-and-permissions).

## Before requesting deletion

Take time to review the following areas.

### 1. Review your AI Experiences

Check which experiences you own or administer and whether they are still being used. If an experience is public, visitors may rely on its website URL or links you have shared.

Consider whether you need to:

* Inform visitors or clients that an experience will no longer be available.
* Update links on your website, social profiles, or marketing materials.
* Coordinate with other organization administrators before making changes.
* Preserve any approved content you may need for future use.

See [Publish Your AI Experience](/share-and-grow/publish-your-ai-experience) for information about the public visitor experience.

### 2. Review conversations and lead information

Your account may contain conversation history, registration information, or insights relevant to ongoing client relationships.

Before deletion, identify what you are authorized to retain and what should be removed. Handle visitor information according to your organization's privacy obligations and applicable law.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Do not assume that every type of data can be exported from the dashboard. If you need a copy of information and cannot find an appropriate option, contact support before proceeding.

For more context, see [Conversation Insights](/conversations-and-leads/conversation-insights) and [Security](/account-and-organization/security).

### 3. Check billing and subscriptions

Review any active subscription, pending invoice, or billing obligation. Account deletion and billing cancellation may require separate steps.

* Check your current plan and billing status.
* Follow the cancellation process if you want to stop future renewals.
* Retain invoices or payment records you need for accounting purposes.
* Ask support if you are uncertain how deletion affects an active subscription.

Related guides: [Payments and Invoices](/billing-and-plans/payments-and-invoices) and [Cancel Your Subscription](/billing-and-plans/cancel-your-subscription).

### 4. Check organization ownership and access

If you manage an organization or collaborate with other people, do not request deletion without considering the impact on their access and operations.

Confirm who will remain responsible for the organization and its AI Experiences. If you only want to leave an organization, removing your access may be more appropriate than deleting the organization or its resources.

See [Organization Settings](/account-and-organization/organization-settings) and [Members and Permissions](/account-and-organization/members-and-permissions).

## How to request account deletion

The available process may depend on your account configuration. Do not assume that a self-service deletion control is present in every account.

1. Sign in to Agentsy and review your account or profile settings for any available account-closure option.
2. If an appropriate deletion option is available, read its confirmation details carefully before proceeding.
3. If you cannot find an option, or your account belongs to an organization with other users, [contact support](/troubleshooting-and-support/contact-support) for guidance.
4. When contacting support, identify the account email and explain whether you want to close your personal account, leave an organization, or request closure of an organization and its AI Experiences.
5. Follow any identity-verification or ownership-confirmation steps requested through the official support process.

> [!TIP]
>
> You do not need to send your password, payment-card details, or sensitive visitor information to request account deletion.

## What happens after a deletion request?

The outcome and timing depend on the account, organization structure, and applicable legal or operational requirements. Support may need to verify your identity, confirm ownership, or clarify the scope of your request.

Some records may need to be retained for a limited period where required by law, billing, security, or legitimate operational obligations. Do not assume that every record disappears immediately or that deleted resources can be restored.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If you need access to invoices, knowledge materials, or permitted business records, resolve those needs **before** confirming deletion. Recovery may not be possible afterward.

## Alternatives to deleting your account

If you are considering deletion because something is not working as expected, one of these options may better fit your goal:

| Your goal | Consider instead |
| - | - |
| Stop future subscription charges | [Cancel Your Subscription](/billing-and-plans/cancel-your-subscription) |
| Change your plan | [Upgrade or Downgrade](/billing-and-plans/upgrade-or-downgrade) |
| Restrict who can use an experience | [Public and Private Access](/create-and-configure/public-and-private-access) |
| Remove a collaborator's access | [Members and Permissions](/account-and-organization/members-and-permissions) |
| Resolve a technical issue | [Contact Support](/troubleshooting-and-support/contact-support) |

## Account deletion checklist

Before submitting a request, confirm that you have:

* [ ] Identified whether you want to close a personal account or an entire organization.
* [ ] Reviewed any live AI Experiences and shared links.
* [ ] Considered visitor communications and ongoing human follow-ups.
* [ ] Reviewed conversations and any records you are permitted to retain.
* [ ] Checked subscriptions, invoices, and outstanding billing questions.
* [ ] Coordinated with other organization administrators where necessary.
* [ ] Confirmed the request through an official Agentsy channel.

## Need help?

If you are unsure which action to take, [contact Agentsy support](/troubleshooting-and-support/contact-support) before proceeding. Explain what you want to stop using and whether you need to preserve any organizational access, invoices, or other records.

> [!TIP]
>
> The safest approach is to confirm the scope and consequences of deletion before taking an irreversible action.
