# Lead Generation Strategies

> Use your Agentsy AI Experience to attract relevant visitors, understand their needs, and create opportunities for meaningful human conversations.

An Agentsy AI Experience can help prospective customers understand your expertise **before** they decide to contact you. Rather than asking every visitor to book a call immediately, you can offer a useful interaction that builds trust and reveals what they are trying to accomplish.

The goal is not simply to collect more registrations. It is to create **better-informed conversations with people who may benefit from your services**.

## 1. Start with a specific visitor problem

Choose a problem your intended audience recognizes and that your expertise can help them explore.

| Instead of promoting… | Invite visitors to… |
| - | - |
| “Our AI assistant” | “Explore which leadership challenge to tackle first” |
| “An AI-powered insurance chatbot” | “Understand the differences between common coverage options” |
| “Our boat-buying AI” | “Learn which type of boat may fit your intended use” |

Be specific about the educational value. Avoid promising personalized recommendations, live inventory, or outcomes your experience cannot actually provide.

## 2. Give visitors a reason to interact

Your invitation should explain what someone can **learn, clarify, or explore** in a short conversation.

A useful invitation has three elements:

1. **Audience:** Who the experience is designed for.
2. **Value:** What the visitor can understand or accomplish.
3. **Action:** A simple invitation to begin.

For example:

> Planning to grow your consulting practice? Explore the questions worth answering before choosing your next strategy. Start a conversation with my AI Experience.

> [!TIP]
>
> Lead with the visitor's problem, not the technology behind the experience.

## 3. Choose channels that reach the right people

Start with channels where you already have trust or an established audience:

* **Your website:** Add a clear link or call to action near relevant services or educational content.
* **LinkedIn and other professional networks:** Share a practical insight and invite readers to explore it further through your AI Experience.
* **Email and newsletters:** Turn one-way educational content into a two-way conversation.
* **Direct outreach:** Share the experience when it is genuinely relevant to a prospect's question or challenge.
* **Partners and communities:** Offer a useful experience to audiences with related needs, subject to their sharing rules.

Use the same core promise across channels so visitors know what to expect when they arrive.

See [Share Your AI Website](/share-and-grow/share-your-ai-website) and [Promote Your Assistant](/share-and-grow/promote-your-assistant).

## 4. Design for value before conversion

A helpful conversation often follows this pattern:

1. **Understand intent.** Recognize what the visitor is trying to accomplish.
2. **Provide useful guidance.** Explain relevant concepts or apply an appropriate educational framework.
3. **Clarify when needed.** Ask a focused question only if it improves the answer.
4. **Recognize next-step readiness.** Notice when the visitor asks about working together, available services, pricing, or a personalized next step.
5. **Offer a human conversation.** Recommend an appropriate contact or booking option when it would genuinely help.

This is a flexible progression, **not a mandatory script**. Some visitors want one answer and leave; others may need several conversations before considering a meeting.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A visitor asking an educational question is not necessarily expressing buying intent. Avoid treating every interaction as a sales opportunity.

## 5. Use registration thoughtfully

Depending on your experience's access configuration, visitors may interact as guests, register before chatting, or register at another point in the journey.

Registration can help associate a conversation with an identifiable visitor, but it does **not** automatically mean that the visitor is qualified or has agreed to sales outreach.

Before deciding where registration belongs, consider:

* Whether visitors understand the value of the experience before being asked to register.
* Whether your registration requirements are appropriate for your audience.
* Whether your privacy notice clearly explains relevant data handling and follow-up practices.
* Whether the registration and sign-in journey works on desktop and mobile.

See [Guest Chat and Registration](/create-and-configure/guest-chat-and-registration) and [User Registration](/conversations-and-leads/user-registration).

## 6. Recognize meaningful interest

Review conversation context rather than relying on registration counts alone.

| Visitor behavior | What it may suggest | Appropriate response |
| - | - | - |
| Asks a broad introductory question | Early exploration | Provide useful educational guidance |
| Compares approaches or options | Active evaluation | Explain trade-offs and relevant considerations |
| Describes a specific challenge | A potentially relevant need | Help clarify the problem and possible next steps |
| Asks about your services or process | Interest in working together | Explain the offering accurately |
| Requests a consultation or personalized assistance | Explicit interest in human help | Offer the available booking or contact route |

These are **signals to interpret**, not an automated qualification score. A visitor's intent may change during the conversation.

Read [Lead Identification](/conversations-and-leads/lead-identification) and [Understanding User Intent](/conversations-and-leads/understanding-user-intent).

## 7. Make the human handoff natural

A human handoff is useful when the visitor needs something beyond the AI Experience's educational or advisory scope, or explicitly wants to speak with a person.

For example:

**Consulting:**

> We've explored the main challenges and possible approaches. If you'd like to discuss how this could apply to your organization, you can arrange a conversation with the consultant.

**Boat advisory:**

> I can help you clarify the type of boat that fits your needs. To review actual boats currently available, the next step is to speak with a broker who can check current inventory.

**Insurance education:**

> I can explain the differences between these options. For advice specific to your circumstances or to proceed with coverage, please speak with the licensed advisor through the available booking option.

Do not invent appointment availability or imply that a meeting has been booked. If a booking button is available on the website, point visitors toward it rather than claiming to schedule on their behalf.

See [Human Handoff](/conversations-and-leads/human-handoff).

## 8. Learn from conversations and improve

Review the information and analytics available in your Agentsy workspace, where enabled, alongside outcomes you track through your own business processes.

Useful questions include:

* Which topics bring visitors into meaningful conversations?
* Which questions come up repeatedly?
* Where does the assistant struggle to provide a useful answer?
* When do visitors explicitly request human assistance?
* Which invitations or channels lead to relevant engagement?
* Do resulting human conversations align with the audience you intended to reach?

Avoid measuring success by registrations alone. A smaller number of relevant, informed conversations can be more valuable than a large number of low-intent visits.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Only access and use visitor information as permitted by your privacy notices, applicable law, and your organization's policies. Do not use conversation content to infer sensitive personal attributes or assume consent to marketing outreach.

## 9. A simple lead-generation experiment

Use this framework for an initial launch:

**1. Choose one audience and problem**

Define who should benefit and the specific question your AI Experience will help them explore.

**2. Create one compelling invitation**

Write a short message describing the value of interacting with the experience.

**3. Share through one or two channels**

Start with a relevant audience you can reach directly, rather than promoting everywhere at once.

**4. Test the complete journey**

Check the landing page, guest or registration flow, answers, and human handoff on desktop and mobile.

**5. Review and refine**

Look for recurring questions, friction, explicit requests for help, and opportunities to improve the content or assistant instructions.

## Common mistakes to avoid

| Mistake | Better approach |
| - | - |
| Promoting the assistant simply because it uses AI | Explain the visitor benefit |
| Asking everyone to book a call immediately | Help visitors understand their options first |
| Treating every registration as a sales-qualified lead | Interpret expressed needs and intent in context |
| Promising real-time or personalized answers without the capability | State the assistant's boundaries clearly |
| Uploading marketing copy without substantive knowledge | Add useful frameworks, FAQs, and educational materials |
| Measuring only clicks or sign-ups | Review engagement quality and appropriate human follow-up |
