1. Define what conversion means for your experience
Start with one primary outcome and, if helpful, one or two supporting outcomes.Registration and conversation volume do not, by themselves, establish lead quality or purchase intent.
2. Review the complete visitor journey
Consider each stage:- Discovery: Where does the visitor find your AI Experience?
- Expectation: Does your landing page explain what they can accomplish?
- First interaction: Is it easy to ask a useful question?
- Value: Does the assistant provide relevant, accurate guidance?
- Next step: Is the path to a human conversation clear when appropriate?
3. Make the first interaction valuable
Use a headline and welcome message that describe a concrete benefit. Less helpful:Chat with our AI assistant.More helpful:
Explore which leadership challenges may be holding your team back. Ask a question to get started. The assistant should respond to the visitor’s actual question before collecting unnecessary details. Ask follow-up questions only when they improve the guidance. For more ideas, see Landing page content and Design the conversation.
4. Match the next step to visitor intent
Different visitors need different responses.
The goal is a natural transition from exploration to a human conversation. See Understanding user intent and Human handoff.
5. Reduce unnecessary friction
Check whether visitors can:- Understand the experience’s purpose before starting.
- Find the conversation entry point on desktop and mobile.
- Understand when registration is required and why.
- Return to the main website without confusing authentication redirects.
- Find a booking or contact option when they want human help.
- Continue receiving useful answers after a handoff suggestion.
6. Improve answer quality before optimizing calls to action
A polished CTA cannot compensate for unhelpful answers. Test whether your assistant:- Uses relevant knowledge and explains uncertainty.
- Responds to the question rather than following a rigid script.
- Avoids repeating the same follow-up question.
- Recognizes requests outside its scope.
- Offers a human next step when it is genuinely useful.
7. Review signals, not just totals
Review the information available in your Agentsy workspace and any analytics you have configured. Depending on your setup, useful signals may include conversation starts, registrations, recurring questions, expressed needs, and meeting requests. When comparing performance, keep definitions consistent. For example:- Registration rate: registrations divided by the relevant visitor population, if both counts are available.
- Meeting-request rate: meeting requests divided by the relevant visitor population, if both counts are available.
- Qualified opportunity rate: opportunities meeting your own documented criteria divided by the relevant lead population.
Only use conversation and identity information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements, your notices, and your organization’s access policies.
8. Run small, measurable experiments
Change one important element at a time so you can understand its effect.
Document the original version, the change, the period reviewed, and what you learned. Avoid drawing conclusions from very small samples.
Example: A business consultant
A consultant notices that visitors frequently ask how to identify operational bottlenecks, but few request a consultation. Instead of making the assistant push meetings more often, the consultant:- Adds a clearer landing page promise: visitors can explore common bottlenecks.
- Improves the knowledge base with a short diagnostic framework.
- Updates the assistant to ask one relevant follow-up question when useful.
- Offers a conversation with the consultant when visitors want to apply the framework to their organization.
- Reviews whether the resulting inquiries are more relevant—not merely more numerous.
